Karaw Craftventures kampeon sa 1st BPI Sinag business plan competition

Pinangunahan ng Bank of the Philippine Island (BPI) Foundation, sa pakikipagtulungan ng Ateneo Center for Social Entrepreneurship (ACSENT) at BPI Family Ka-Negosyo ang 1st BPI Sinag Pitch Day na ginanap kamakailan sa Alpha Tents, Makati City, kung saan
ay kinilala ang mga natatanging young social entrepreneurs.

Ang BPI Sinag ay isang business plan competition upang kilalanin ang mga young Filipino entrepreneurs na may social mission. Umabot sa mahigit 150 entries mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa ang nagpadala ng entry sa BPI Foundation at pumili ang 40 mula
sa Social Entrepreneurship Boot Camp at kinilala ang best top 10 para sa BPI Sinag Pitch Day.

“We knew that we wanted to tap and empower millennials — this young and energetic generation of idealists, doers and change makers, whose purpose is just as important as profi t,” sabi ni Fidelina Corcuera, Executive Director, BPI Foundation.

Ang top 10 fi nalists ay bini gyan ng pagkakataong ipagmalaki at ipakilala ang kanilang social enterprise business plans sa mga hurado na sina Jim Ayala, social entrepreneur na siya ring founder ng Hybrid Social Solutions, Inc.; Josiah Go, Chairman at
Chief Marketing Strategist of Mansmith and Fielders, Inc.; Chit Juan, nagtatag ng ECHOstore; Ramon Lopez, Go Negosyo Executive Director; Injap Sia, property developer at founder ng Mang Inasal at Mark Yu, CFO of SEAOIL Philippines.

Mula sa nangungunang sampu (top 10), kinilala ang top fi ve awardees na pinangunahan ng grand awardees na sina Paul Andrew Orpiada at Leciel Ramos ng Karaw Craftventures. Top 4 ang Bayani Brew nina Herxilia Protacia at Ron Dizon; CocoAsenso ni Asa Feinstein;
Plush and Play ni Fabien Courteille; Siglo ni Alvin Kingston Tan.

Napili ang top 5 awardees sa criteria na 20%, social impact and business model; 20%, market strategy and competitive analysis; 20% design and development plan; 20%, fi nancial plan; 10%, management and organizational plan; and 10%, pitch presentation
and summary of overall business plan. Ang top fi ve fi nalists ay tumanggap ng P200,000, sixmonth mentorship at access sa Ateneo Business Incubation Center. Samantalang ang grand awardee ay tumanggap ng P500,000 mula sa BPI Family Ka-Negosyo.
