“We took him (Barro) in as a new member of our club to further harness his potential,” said Catalan in a phone interview, via Sun Star.
“We need junior shooters like him so that they will be trained early because it will take years to hone the skills of the young ones. To excel in practical shooting, one must work hard, be a fast-learner, have the right attitude, discipline, and patience,” he added.
Catalan also said Barro is a fast shooter, but he still needs to improve his accuracy. This is where they will start their training to give him the right foundation.
Barro, for his part, is now looking forward to begin his new journey with LAGSPG.
“It’s an honor and a privilege because I am now part of a group (LAGPSG) that has members who are highly trained individuals and also considered the best of the best in the Philippines. Also, this is a gun club that is well respected, and one of the best gun clubs in the whole country,” the multi-titled Cebuano said.

He also thanked gratitude the other sharpshooters and people of Cebu who helped him in his career, especially the members of Team Bulldog, who taught him a lot about the shooting world and the outside world.
Barro, 19, won almost every shooting competition he joined last year. He also won his first championship trophy in the standard division. Now that he’s part of LAGPSG, he promised to bring honor to the group.
“I will dedicate my time to the club balancing it with the demands of my life as I am Although I need to balance my time also a student-athlete (football) of La Salle. In every training session and every competition where I carry the name of the club, I will give it my all,” Barro vowed.

“I feel pressured to be honest, but that’s the best of it because I have something to look forward to. I am more motivated than ever. My goals are just simple: train hard and train intelligently,” he said.
The competition’s top performers will have the chance to be part of the Philippine team that will join the IPSC Word Shoot XIX from November 28 to December 5 in Pattaya, Thailand.
