Tuguegarao City – In support of the Resolution released by the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) encouraging the use of face shields in all places, the Department of Science and Technology Region 02 led by Director Sancho A. Mabborang provided 5,000 pieces of face shields to Provincial Local Government Unit of Cagayan on August 24, 2020.

 

These face shields were fabricated by the DOST- Metals Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC) to support medical and non-medical front liners nationwide.

 

Aside from the protection for the eyes, nose, and mouth that it gives, the face shields are also believed by the local researchers as a convenient protection from the transmission of the virus.

 

These face shields were officially awarded through Engr. Sylvia T. Lacambra, PSTC-Cagayan Director, John Michael Taguiam, SRS II, Jayferson Mabborang, SRS II, and Ferdinand Michael, SRS I.
