SA pangunguna ng Computer scientist at electrical engineer Shwetak Patel naimbento ang pinakabagong mobile application na ‘Senosis’ para tulungan ang mobile users na mag-diagnose ng sakit at para ma-monitor nito ang kanilang health rates.

Nagmula sa University of Washington ang computer scientist na si Patel at naipagbili sa Google ang ginawa niyang Senosis Health App. Nauna na rito marami na ring nagawang startup ventures si Patel kabilang ang energy meters to air quality sensors na kanyang naipagbili sa ibang kumpanya.

Binuo ni Patel ang Senosis Health sa tulong ng mga engineers at physicians. Malaking hamon sa kanila kung paano gagawing monitoring devices ang cellphone device na kukuha ng health metrics at tutulong na mag-diagnose ng pulmonary function, hemoglobin count at iba apang critical health concerns ng mobile user.

Ang Senosis Health App ay binubuo ng SpiroSmart, SpiroCall, HemaApp at OsteoApp, kasalukuyan na nasa review stage ng Food and Drug Administration ang mga applications na ito.

Gamit ang camera at microphone ng inyong mobile phone bilang diagnostic tool matutukoy ang inyong health rate. 

Senosis HemaApp

Pinaliwanag ni Patel mayroon ng sensors ang ating mobile phone. “Those sensors that are already on the mobile phone can be repurposed in interesting new ways, where you can actually use those for diagnosing certain kinds of diseases,” sabi ni Patel.

Ayon kay Patel nais niya talagang bigyang solusyon ang malalaking problema na kinakaharap ng marami sa atin—kabilang ang ating kalusugan.

Kabilang din sa founders ng Senosis ang mga doktor na sina Dr. Jim Stout  isang  professor ng  pediatrics at  adjunct professor of health services sa  University of Washington; Dr. Margaret Rosenfeld, attending physician sa Seattle Childrens Hospital at propesor sa  Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine; Dr. Jim Taylor mula sa  University of Washington, at  Mike Clarke, former associate director sa UW’s technology transfer office.

SpiroCall at SpiroSmart

Gamit ang SpiroCall at SpiroSmart malalaman ng mobile user ang posibleng pulmonary problems na mayroon siya, sa inilabas na press release ng Alphabet, mother company ng google, inilarawan nila ang SpiroCall bilang application na susukat sa haba ng iyong hinga.

“There’s a real need to have a device that allows patients to accurately monitor their condition at home without having to constantly visit a medical clinic, which in some places requires hours or days of travel,” ayon kay  Mayank Goel, doctoral student at bahagi ng proyekto.

“SpiroCall replicates the functioning of one of the key tools in assessing lung function — the spirometer. By measuring how much air the lungs hold, how much they expel and how they act and sound while they do so, much can be determined. And the developers of SpiroCall made it possible to check all that just by breathing out into a regular phone”

OsteoApp

Ayon sa press release na nilabas ng Washington University sa pamamagitan ng OsteoApp maaari ng masukat ang bone density ng mobile user.

“OsteoApp, an app for smartphones that tests bone density and tells the user whether they are at a significant risk for bone disease. Just like any other solid, be it a guitar string or a rock, bones have a natural frequency at which they resonate.”

“OsteoApp uses a vibration technique that emits a pulse from the smartphone, causing a bone to “ring” at resonate frequency—a function of the bone’s stiffness and density. The smartphone’s microphone then listens to the ringing bone. From this, OsteoApp can estimate bone density and recommend whether the user contact a physician—staving off pain and suffering for middle-aged or older women and men all over the world”.

Health care technology

Ayon sa Google nais nilang mapabuti ang health care technology. Nangangahulugan ito na nais din nilang gawing mabilis at madali ang pangangalaga ng kalusugan ng kanilang mga costumers. Noong nakaraang taon nilabas nila ang DeepHealthMind Health na nakakatulong sa mga doktor na maitala ang komplikasyon ng kanilang mga pasyente.

Sa pamamagitan ng Artificial intelligence o AI matutulungan ang medical providers at pasyente na mabigyan ng diagnoses sa pinakamabilis  na paraan. Ngunit sa kasakuyan ayon sa kumpanya  wala pang nilalabas na taon kung kailan matatapos ang Senosis App.

Dinagdag din ng kumpanya na  hangarin nila na marating ang malayong potensyal ng teknolohiya. “Google’s plans for its health technology arm, which aims to ‘dramatically improve the availability and accuracy of medical services.”
